A big hello to all of you overworked and under paid hands who make the horse ad saddle your office.

I just rolled back into town from Montana on the Overland. I got back and made my way to the bunkhouse and got cleaned up. I settled into the evening, hoping to spend the time relaxing and playing checkers or dominos.

The checkers and Domino games were in use so I challenged old Whiskers Willy to a game of Battleship. It's a good game for Whiskers since it doesn't require the mental agility of checkers or dominos. I sunk three of Whisker's ships right away then he looks over his wire-rims and exclaims, "Scipio, you know, there is a Fourth of July movie playing at the Sunny Ridge Bijou tomorrow " at 6:00 PM. "Really?" I queried. The Bijou usually shows movies on Wednesday evening. "Nope" says Whiskers and goes on to explain that the movie is "Battleship." It stars Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skarsgard, Rihanna, Brooklyn Decker and Liam Nelson.

It tells the story of an international naval war game being played by various navies in the waters off Hawaii. The war games at sea are interrupted when alien ships arrive on earth to do evil. They lose their ability to communicate with their home planet so need a communication system on the mountains of Hawaii. The only way to defeat the aliens is to destroy the system. Old technology in the form of the battleship U.S.S. Missouri are required and of course, an old crew from the Greatest Generation to operate the old systems.

This movie reminds me a lot of Independence Day. It is a great movie to instill a little patriotic spirit prior to the 4th of July on Friday.

The usual movie snacks of popcorn and soda will be served along with a special treat rustled up by our cook, Ringworm Ryan. He plans on serving up tube steak on a bun.(Hot Dogs) Movie starts at 6 PM and the snacks and tube steaks will be served throughout the movie by members of the Sweetwater Regulators. Hope to see a few of the riders of the brand in attendance.
