Rise and shine buckaroos. It's time to greet the spring and begin getting ready for all the work that is required at the ranch as summer approaches. I know that spring is here because of the mud. I also see the poo flies flocking around the manure, robins, cardinals, starlings, red winged blackbirds, sand hill cranes and various hawks, all returning to their summer ranges. Speaking of ranges, we will have a busy roundup season as the mild winter made for a good drop of calves on our range. We will be busy the next few weeks using leather conditioner on our saddles and bridles as well as other tack. But hey, it's not all work. Take some time out for visiting the Sunny Ridge basement theater on Wednesday evening, April 2nd, at 6 PM for the showing of "Warlock." This classic western rates with the Searchers, Ox Bow Incident, and Shane.This psychological western has as its plot, a renegade bunch of cowboys who come into the the town of Warlock and shoot and kill with impunity. The town has no charter so doesn't operate as a town when it comes to law and order. They have a town council that can't keep a marshal from either getting killed or run out of town by the cowboys from a nearby ranch. The council decides to hire a gunman as marshall to clean up the town.

This classic stars Henry Fonda, Richard Widmark, Anthony Quinn, and Dorothy Malone. Movie starts at 6 PM. Snacks and beverages are provided or bring your own. Cowboy attire welcome but not required.
