NRA Personal Protection Inside the Home (PPITH) COURSE
July 20th from 8am-4pm.
Course Goal: To develop in the students the basic knowledge, skills and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for the protection of self and family, and to provide information on the law-abiding citizen’s right to self defense.
This course is for adult individuals who are not disqualified from possessing a firearm as defined by applicable federal, state or local law and are of good repute and possess handgun knowledge presented in the NRA Basic Pistol course. Must also understand the basic legal concept relating to the use of firearms in self-defense and must know and observe not only federal gun safety rules but also those safety principles that are specific to defensive situations. Prospective participants can demonstrate that they have the requisite knowledge, skills and attitudes by producing an NRA Basic Pistol Course Certificate, or by passing the pre-course evaluation.
Requirements and Prerequisite:
- Prospective participants can demonstrate that they have the requisite knowledge, skills and attitudes by producing an NRA Basic Pistol Certificate.
- Revolver with 2 speed loaders or pistol with 2 magazines.
- 150 rounds of ammunition.
- Eye and ear protection.
This is a prerequisite for PPITH Instructor Candidates.
